# People-photos: inventory & duplicate report

_Perceptual-hash (rotation-invariant dhash, 256-bit) + md5 across all sources, plus a photo-by-photo visual review (6 July 2026). Two events were found mixed together and have been separated; all photos are now in event subfolders, people-only._

## TL;DR

- **Two different events were mixed in this folder.** They are now separated into clearly named event subfolders.
- The **July "summit break"** (AGM + Cluedo teambuild) feeds the montage (`summit-montage.html`).
- The **November year-end / Christmas party** ("A Quick Review of 2025" — santa hats, tinsel, gifts, braai) is its own event folder for separate curation.
- Photos **without people** were pulled out of the pool into `_no-people/`.
- Duplicates were found and the redundant low-res copies were deleted.

## Final structure (all event subfolders, people-only)

```
├── 2025-07-24-AGM/               30   July summit — AGM day
├── 2025-07-25-Teambuild/         29   July summit — Cluedo teambuild (curated album)
**Montage pool = 87 people photos** (AGM 30 + Teambuild 29 + Teambuild-Extras 28).
## Drive "Other Photos" share — retrieval verified (6 July 2026)
The shared folder (`Other Photos`, owner jillb@resrequest.co.za) contains **31 files: 29 HEIC photos + 2 videos**
(IMG_9324.MOV clip + a screen-recording MP4). All 29 photos are downloaded, converted and in
`2025-07-25-Teambuild-Extras/` (IMG_9305 → `_no-people/`). The 2 videos were not imported (photo montage only).
**Dating correction:** these 29 were previously labelled "2025-07-31 Extras" (the Drive upload date).
EXIF in the original HEICs shows they were all captured **25 July 2025, 11:57–12:01** — a single
walk-around sweep during the Cluedo teambuild. The red sequin/lace dresses in some shots are
murder-mystery costumes (Miss Scarlett & co.), **not** Christmas party outfits.
## Duplicates found & actions taken
**1. `agm-2025-*` were the November event, downscaled — 9 exact duplicates DELETED.**
9 of the 23 shared-album photos were **pixel-identical** (hash distance 0) to a full-res `IMG_5xxx` file — just Google-downscaled copies. The full-res originals are kept; the 9 low-res copies were deleted:
| deleted (low-res) | kept full-res twin |
|---|---|
| agm-2025-02 | IMG_5333 |
| agm-2025-03 | IMG_5334 |
| agm-2025-04 | IMG_5335 |
| agm-2025-05 | IMG_5336 |
| agm-2025-09 | IMG_5343 |
| agm-2025-12 | IMG_5346 |
| agm-2025-14 | IMG_5348 |
| agm-2025-21 | IMG_5360 |
| agm-2025-22 | IMG_5364 |
The **14 remaining** `agm-2025-*` photos are the same November event with **no full-res twin**, so they live alongside the IMG_5xxx files in `2025-11-ChristmasParty/` as the only copy of those shots.
**2. Burst near-duplicate within Teambuild (kept — your call at montage time).**
`2025-07-25-Teambuild/teambuild-09.jpg` ≈ `teambuild-10.jpg` (distance 6) — two frames of the same moment. Pick one for the montage.
**3. No other overlap.**
The July sets have **zero** cross-duplication with each other or with the November event.
## People-only filter (visual review of every photo)
- `2025-07-31-Extras/IMG_9305.jpg` → `_no-people/IMG_9305-cluedo-board.jpg` (suspect corkboard, no people). Removed from the montage deck.
- `2025-11-ChristmasParty/IMG_5572.JPG` → `_no-people/IMG_5572-rocketman-cake.JPG` (cake in box, no people).
- Every other photo in the event folders contains people.
## Notes
- `2025-07-25-Teambuild-Extras/` orientation was normalised: 14 of the 29 Drive photos were shot sideways (EXIF orientation 6) and are baked upright.
- `summit-montage.html` was updated for the folder rename and the removal of the board slide.
